16 houses in 16 days

The Gauteng MEC for Housing, Nomvula Mokonyane, will on Wednesday, 30 November 2005, assist with building of houses as part of the national campaign on 16 Days of Activism of No Violence against Women and Children. The Gauteng Department of Housing, together with various stakeholders, is currently building 16 houses in Doornkop.

This event forms part of the government's events which is aimed at highlighting the plight of women and children who were abused either physically or emotionally. All houses will be handed over to beneficiaries whom are all women, survivors of various forms of abuse and also senior citizens.
