Bekkersdal Multi-Purpose Community Centre to be launched 30 November 2005 The Gauteng Provincial Government together with other stakeholders will tomorrow, Thursday, 1 December 2005, launch the Bekkersdal Multi-purpose Community Centre (MPCC) on the West Rand . Housing MEC Nomvula Mokonyane and Home Affairs Deputy Minister Malusi Gigaba will speak at the launch. The MPCC is the 20th centre to be launched in Gauteng since 2002. MPCCs bring together in one place services from local, provincial and national government, making it easier for residents to access services and information to improve their lives. MPCCs also include community-based organisations, non-government organisations (NGOs), parastatals and business services. Some of the services that will be available at the Bekkersdal MPCC are municipal pay-points, rent and water services, social work services, a library, emergency services, health care and sport facilities. Bekkersdal falls under the Westonarea Local Municipality within the West Rand District Municipality . Details of the launch are as follows: Directions to Bekkersdal MPCC From Johannesburg , take the M1 South towards Bloemfontein . After the Devland off-ramp keep to the left and take the N12 to Potchefstroom/ Randfontein. Turn right at the Vereeniging, Randfontein, Carletonville intersection on to the R28. Turn right into Bekkersdal. At the Excel Garage turn right and follow the road onto Godlo Street . A marquee for the launch is at the corner of Godlo and Panyapanya Streets.
